Accelerated Math:

Our Year 9 & 10 Accelerated Maths programme follows the NSW Mathematics K–10 Syllabus, focusing on the Stage 5.3 pathway to challenge advanced learners, while also introducing select Preliminary Stage 6 topics to prepare for HSC Maths courses. Students master Number and Algebra, delving into advanced algebraic techniques such as quadratic equations, surds, indices, and logarithms, alongside financial mathematics like compound interest. Measurement and Geometry extends to trigonometry with non-right-angled triangles, circle geometry, and advanced applications of Pythagoras’ theorem. Statistics and Probability covers cumulative frequency, standard deviation, and bivariate data analysis, equipping students with skills for data interpretation. Additionally, students explore introductory HSC concepts, such as basic functions (e.g., quadratic, exponential) and their graphs, providing a head start for Year 11 Advanced or Extension 1 Maths.
